GigaPan of the Holiday Art Sale at the Schrader Center

Check out this link to a GigaPan of the artist’s exhibits at the Holiday Art Show. GigaPans are digital images with billions of pixels, with remarkably crisp and vivid detail, all captured in the context of a single brilliant photo. Using a series of robotic camera mounts to capture photos using almost any digital camera, GigaPan Stitch Software automatically combines hundreds of images taken into a single image.

“The Schrader center plans to use the large panoramas created with the GigaPan to give broader audiences access to the natural world of the Ohio valley, specifically the northern panhandle of WV.  The images, freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection, allow photographic exploration at a new level, and will undoubtedly be a unique tool for outreach and teaching,” says Jacob Francis, Director of Environmental Education for the Schrader Center.

The GigaPan is based on the same technology employed by the Mars Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, to capture the incredible images of the red planet. GigaPan gives experienced and novice photographers the technology to create high-resolution panorama images more easily than ever before, and the resulting GigaPan images offer viewers a new, unique perspective on the world.
